Wild horse on Bodmin Moor
I had never really spent any time in the Cornish Moors before, so on a beautiful sunny March morning I went for a walk around Bodmin Moor. All I can say is, wow! There is such variety, even on the small section I went around. Strange rock structures, horses, quarries, lakes, streams and everything in between. The horses were not overly friendly, but with a calm approach I managed to get some photographs.

Although the weather was near perfect whilst I was walking across the moor, the weather can be brutal as this wind swept tree on a hill face shows.

A friend of mine has recently moved to Cornwall so I took the opportunity to go and explore. As it happens the train journey from London to Truro is one of the most stunning rail journeys imaginable. The train line snakes along parallel to the coast for numerous miles, passing flooded plains, small fishing harbours, tidal walls and an array of other beautiful scenery. I spent a good deal of the trip hanging out of the window of the train with my camera.

The next morning I forced my poor friend Roxy from her sleep to drive me around to chase the early morning light… First stop was a beach I had randomly picked from the map, at first I wasn’t too impressed but I actually really like the ruggedness of this photo and the variety of geographic features as the stream runs into the river and the mist hovers above the horizon.

Next stop was on the banks of the River Truro as the sun slowly emerged from the hazy morning, it was a bitterly cold March morning with frost covering the ground.

Cornwall
At the end of last year I visited Scotland with some friends, I had previously only visited Scotland for the day, and this time wasn’t much longer, but I did spend a long weekend in Glasgow, Edinburgh and surrounding area. After arriving in Glasgow we drove up to Loch Lomond.
By this point the famous Scottish rain had really set in by this point and had swelled the normally tranquil waterfall to this raging torrent of brown water.
One of the oddities of Glasgow is the Necropolis, essentially a huge graveyard which was built in the 1800s, a very highly prosperous period in Glasgow’s history where vast sums would be paid to build elaborate tomb stones and monuments to the cities great and good on their death. It is perched on a hill overlooking the similarly shaped and coloured tower block of Glasgow and is quite a eerie place to walk around. Scotland is somewhere I want to spend a lot more time, so many beautiful places to photograph.
