On the last day of our stay in Melbourne I finally got out to take some pictures on the beach at sunrise. The wind was blowing a chilly breeze in from the sea, but it was well worth facing the cold! Taken on a tripod with a graduated filter and a neutral density filter to get the smoothed out ocean.

The rocks seemed to be covered in what to me looked like oil. Maybe moss though? I almost had a close encounter with some of the wild animals in Australia yesterday… More about that soon!

It’s suprisingly difficult to find a hotel in Australia with an internet connection! I am sat in a video rental store/internet cafe instead. I spent the first week of my trip in Melbourne, and the I flew north to Carines. I am currently in a small town called Port Douglas. The picture above is the Melbourne skyline at night. The weather is a nice 27 degrees here though it was much colder down in Melbourne… There are some beautiful beaches in Melbourne even with the wind whipping at your heels, stunning at sun rise. I will put a couple of those pictures up in the next few days.

I have been working on an updated portfolio for a while now. I have just set it live so please go take a look! It is designed to be easy to use and allows 3 different ways of navigating between photos as follows:

• Photo thumbnails
• Slideshow which can be started or stopped at any point by clicking play/pause
• By clicking on the left or right of the current photo to go the next/previous photo

Hopefully that covers the most common ways of navigating between pictures and is user friendly. The portfolio uses Flash to display the pictures, but uses permalinks to allow people to bookmark individual photograph pages.

I am off on my travels again, I am currently sat in Abu Dubai airport making use of the great free WIFI; why don’t all airports have it?! I am headed to Australia, starting off in Melbourne and then going north. I have my laptop this trip so I will hopefully be able to upload some pictures during my trip this time!

British weather is always bound to fail you when you need it to be sunny! The theme for this shoot was summer time… The bikini was hand sewn by a friend of mine who also did the make-up and hair. It was a freezing day so a big thanks to Candice for putting up with it!

Dodging rain clouds was the order of the day! Both shots with a Canon 580ex mk II flash softened with a shoot through white umbrella.
